Modern Window Treatment Fabric Designs

Drapes, curtains, window treatments - They all mean the same thing - something to cover your windows. I went looking for some fun modern fabrics to accent my mid-century modern home decor. I found some absolutely gorgeous modern prints from Robert Allen Design. My favorite fabric design is Artisan Glass as pictured here. I like the warm colors and the interesting pattern that is fun but not over-powering.

I also found some uniquely modern patterns from Kravet. My favorite design here is Play Mates Chai. The geometric pattern is decidedly mid-mod and again, the neutral colors will compliment any room. When I looked at some of the drapery fabrics from Duralee, I found my favorite design in the Newport Collection - book # 2722 in Lilac.

Whatever your design of choice, you can find your drapery fabric either online or from a decorative fabric specialist in your area. If you already have a particular design in mind, a drapery fabric store can help you to find it. If you don't know what you're looking for, go in to a decorative fabric / decorator store and ask them to show you some samples. I hope you find your drapery fabric. I have found mine. Happy hunting!

Do It Yourself Window Treatments

Curtains, drapes, shears, cornices, and shades; If you've got a vision in mind for your window treatments, it's pretty easy to make it a reality. First, choose your fabric. You can pick from vintage fabric, designer fabric, or sheets. You can even use wallpaper to cover a shade. My favorite type of textile to decorate with are vintage fabrics. Ebay is a great resource for inexpensive and unique new and vintage fabric.

For a custom cornice, you can make your own cornice board out of plywood or foamcore. Then cover it with a fun fabric, a remnant, or a sheet. A plain old shade can be transformed by covering it with some nice wallpaper.

You can sew new curtains or shears easily. Just make sure you measure your drapery fabric and leave room for the seam allowance. If you don't want to sew, use a pretty sheet and some fabric glue, decorative pins, vintage pendants, or eyelets.

Choosing the Right Window Treatment

Are you in the process of redecorating your home? Ready to choose window treatments, curtains, draperies, or blinds? Choosing the right style of window treatment for your home is an important step in your remodeling project.

Draperies and valances can be used alone or as an accent to existing window treatments such as blinds or shears. When choosing drapes, pick a fabric print and color that will fit in with the overall colorscheme of the room without being to flashy or too neutral. If choosing a print, go ahead and choose something of a matching color scheme, but with a unique print. It's boring to have drapes and pillows in identical matching prints. Mix it up a little. The same trick works for the valance. Choose complimentary color in a different print.

From a basic pinch pleat to a sophisticated top treatment, finding just the right style of Hunter Douglas window coverings can make the difference in your redecorating project. Look for a wide range of custom fabric window treatments including traditional draperies, swags, cornices and valances to really dress up your rooms. Nothing adds that finishing touch like fashionable window treatments.

Choose among many fine fabrics in a wide variety of colors and textures. Ask questions about your window treatments and select the style and fabric that best fits your redecorating project, at a price that fits your redecorating window treatment budget.

There are millions of different variations of window treatments including color, material, and designs. Window Treatments can make or break a room. They can make a dull room, into a luxurious room.
